Sans Serif Font Round Up

Searching for the perfect font can sometimes be a very tedious task, but one that I absolutely love as a designer. Whether it’s finding the right font for the logo typeface or gathering font families to round out the fonts to be used to compliment the brand as a whole, it’s a part of my job that I can’t get enough of.

Today I’m sharing 6 of my current favorite san serif fonts. As a quick reminder, Sans serif typefaces are considered more modern than serif typefaces. They lack the ‘strokes’ that distinguish a serif typeface, which is why the use of the French word ‘sans’ is part of the name. Overall, you’ll see sans serif fonts used for branding that evokes a clean, modern, friendly and approachable vibe.

One.

Work Sans

Starting out the list with one of my all time favorites—Work Sans. With varying weights, this font is such a great option for subheaders and button call-to-actions within a brand’s complimentary font pairings. I also love it paired back to a serif font for an added elevated look!

Two.

Bilo

This new to me font is one I’ve been itching to use. It offers a slightly offbeat vibe while still leaning modern, clean and refined. This would be such a fun font to use for brand packaging or to create a modern top navigation on a client’s website.

Three.

Cyrene

A bit more on the playful side, Cyrene is such a beautiful font. I could easily visualize this font being perfect for a children’s clothing line, local juicery or a plant shop. It’s got just enough quirkiness, but still allows for easy legibility.

Four.

Brandon Grotesque

Another tried and true in my book is Brandon Grotesque. It’s got plenty of weights to choose from, as well as italics options, so if you’re looking for a good workhorse sans serif font, this one is at the top of my list.

five.

Nudista

Nudista is a geometric sans serif typeface that is based off of an oval shape, giving it a slightly unique look to a typical sans serif font. It’s a perfect font for a brand that wants a slightly more unique, tech-driven vibe.

six.

Sweet Sans Pro

For a super classic, chic sans serif font, I love Sweet Sans Pro. It offers wide letterforms which makes it super legible, even scaled down in size. It can be a great starting point for a refined, brand typeface set in all caps.
