How to Make a Link in Bio Page for Your Website

If you’re using social media, especially Instagram, to drive traffic to your site, there’s a good chance you are using a third-party app like Linktree to direct traffic. Rather than sending your potential clients through a few hoops to land on the right page, I’m breaking down how you can quickly create your own version of this in your Squarespace site.

Why? For a few reasons. First, this allows for you to be in charge of the look of it--keeping it to your brand standards vs. what the third-party app offers. Second, you are sending visitors directly to your site--which is great for SEO. And you’ll be able to track via Squarespace or Google Analytics.

So now it’s time to decide: does your Squarespace navigation currently do the trick or were you utilizing a third-party app to also send people to things such as your recent press feature, affiliate links, basically anything that doesn’t live on your site. If you answered yes, then follow the steps below to create a ‘link in bio’ page with your Squarespace site.

ONE.

Set up a Non Linked Page

To create a page simply go to Pages > Not Linked > Create a New Page > Blank

Pro Tip:  Make sure you name the Page Title and URL something short and sweet like Hello, Social, Connect

TWO.

Add in a Touch of Branding

This is the perfect time to add in a branded photo or brand mark to help connect with your potential clients. Add in those content blocks and then we’ll move into adding links.

Pro Tip:  Keep it simple, yet on brand. No more than 1-2 photos or a brand mark here.

THREE.

Add in the Links

I recommend using one size of buttons to add in your content links. Stack the buttons, one by one, on top of each other. Don’t forget to link the buttons out to the respective pages or other websites. And if you’re sending people off our site, make sure to click ‘Open in a new window.’

Pro Tip: After you’ve added your buttons, add in the Social Icons section so visitors can easily follow you on all the outlets.

four.

Add the Link to Your Social Profile

Ta-da--we’re done! Last step is to add your new social URL to your accounts.

Pro Tip: Test it out once you’ve set it all up to make sure it looks great on mobile devices, as a majority of social media traffic is via a phone.

five.

Keep it Updated

Now that it’s set, just make sure you keep it updated with the most relevant information your potential client would need.

And if you want to get really custom, you can add in css that hides your top and bottom navigation from this specific page only.
